July 2021 – Jacob and Penny started building a new nest on the beach east of Progress Jetty.
20th July 2021: Jacob and Penny have completed their nest and at this stage have three eggs.
26th July 2021: Jacob and Penny’s clutch has increased to six eggs.
3rd August 2021: Jacob and Penny’s clutch has now reached seven eggs and the couple are diligently exchanging nesting duties.
1st September 2021: Jacob and Penny’s eggs started hatching today.
2nd September 2021: All eggs have now hatched and Jacob and Penny have seven cygnets.
4th September 2021: Jacob and Penny’s magnificent seven cygnets were named Ash, Shadow, Midnight, Sunny, Daisy, Crystal and Jewel following a school project with the assistance of the teacher and Class 3/4P from Bimbadeen Heights Primary School (Mooroolbark).
5th September 2021: Cygnets Ash, Shadow, Midnight, Sunny, Daisy, Crystal and Jewel are five days-of-age.
